María Luisa

Composer & Pianist

¡Hola!

I am a composer-performer based in London. I work with artists remotely and locally on their films and compositions. If you are passionate about culture and you believe in the power of music, you’re in the right place.

I strongly believe that artists have a responsibility to support each other, and this has led me to produce and collaborate in multimedia projects including dozens of artists from all around the globe. My productions have been performed in festivals such as Bloomsbury Festival and the Festival Latinoamericano de Música. To date, I have commissioned over thirty composers and more than twenty works of art including the participation of painters, photographers, dancers and actors.

I am an award-winning composer as well as an award-winning performer. The Southbank Centre and the Duke’s Hall are some of the venues in which my music has been performed. I have always enjoyed experimenting with different genres both as a pianist and as a composer. Some of my favorite artists are Alexandre Scriabin and Robert Schumann, but I also love Billie Eilish and BTS.

My musical education began when I was five years old with my amazing teacher Sofia Pokryvailo, who is still my main source of inspiration and support. I graduated with First Class (Hons) from a double major in composition and piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire (an option that was not on offer, but that I was allowed to take on!). In October 2022, I graduated from my Masters in Music (Performance) at the Royal Academy of Music with a Distinction and the DipRAM award in my final recital.

I have been lucky to meet and study with some outstanding musicians, including Elena Riu, Peter Tuite, Amandine Savary, John Ashton Thomas, Errollyn Wallen MBE, Douglas Finch and Soosan Lolavar.
